For my final project, I will be creating a design focused beauty magazine - Beauty Noted. I love both beauty and design, so want the final outcome to be a combination of these things. Below are screenshots from my FMP proposal, documenting my original plan for the project. I love print design and unique, niche magazines like The Gentlewoman, Jungle and Kinfolk, however have found there is a gap in the market for a magazine of this kind that has a specific beauty focus. The magazine was initially to be called Notes on Beauty, but after doing further research of other beauty blogs and magazines, I realised that there was a blog called Notes on Beauty, so have changed the title of my project to
Beauty Noted.
Aims:
- The aim of this project will be to produce the Summer 2017 issue of Beauty Noted, as well as an accompanying website where readers can download the magazine from and an Instagram account used to share behind the scenes photos and extra content.
Objectives:
- To combine simplistic, minimal design with informative articles and beautiful editorials to create a timeless magazine that is not reliant on current trends, therefore will be relevant in years to come.
- To produce a magazine that appeals to an audience of real beauty lovers, discussing topics in more depth than commercial publications that aim to appeal to a broad target audience.
